At the end of the day, there is no specific ceremony for cacao. This is not to say that there aren't specific ways in which Indigenous traditions use this medicine. However, working with cacao on a personal and even group level, cacao teaches us to flow with what is moving through us day in and day out.

Jonas, founder of Ora Cacao-
Join me for a sacred cacao ceremony designed to open your heart and deepen your connection to yourself and community. We'll gather with ceremonial-grade cacao, an ancient plant medicine. You'll experience the heart-opening properties of cacao while connecting with like-minded souls in a safe, nurturing space.
After sharing cacao, you will be grounded further into the medicine with a sound healing experience featuring a variety of instruments to help heal your body on a cellular level and heighten feelings of relaxation. Expect guided meditation, intention setting, and a few journal prompts to ground your experience further.
Please bring a mat or blanket to sit/lay on, a journal/pen, water and an eye mask if you want to go deeper during the sound experience.
Pricing for this event is $38. Registration required- you can book directly through the link below or email me at Lauren@LBHealing.com to secure your spot and pay via venmo or cash.
There are a few scholarships available at discounted prices if you’d like to experience working with this medicine but can’t afford the cost of entry this time. Please email me for more information.
Note that ceremonial cacao contains naturally occurring compounds that may interact with certain conditions and medications. Please consult your healthcare provider before attending if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Take antidepressants (especially MAOIs or SSRIs)- you can take cacao with these but I recommend a smaller dose to start out
Have a heart condition, high blood pressure, or take heart medications
Are on blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder
Have a severe allergy to chocolate or caffeine sensitivity (note that cacao has caffeine but it is modulated much differently than coffee or other caffeinated drinks and works with the cardiovascular system vs. the nervous system. The uptake is slower and more evenly spread out).
Take stimulant medications (ADHD medications, etc.) as this may have an overall heightened effect
Have liver or kidney disease
Cacao contains theobromine and caffeine, which can be stimulating for some. If you have concerns about whether a cacao ceremony is right for you, please reach out before registering. You can always start with a lower dose and work yourself up to a higher one if you feel more comfortable. Even a small dose of cacao allows you to experience all of its beneficial effects.
